Dr. Angelica Cortez
CEO

Dr. Angelica Cortez is an advocate, community organizer, and nonprofit founder currently serving as the CEO at LEAD Filipino Action Fund. A San Francisco Bay Area native, Dr. Cortez has dedicated nearly two decades of her life advocating for immigrant rights, economic competitiveness, and diversity, equity, and inclusion policies across the State of California. She spent her young adulthood organizing cultural and leadership initiatives for low-income Filipino youth in East San Jose, and engaging community residents to build power through representation including mural and park projects in Silicon Valley, resulting in the Delano Manongs Mural at Milpitas Library and Delano Manongs Park in East San Jose.

As the CEO of LEAD Filipino AF, Dr. Cortez will direct and implement the organization’s grassroots electoral campaigns to elect progressive candidates and advance progressive policies. She serves on the LGBTQ+ Victory Fund Campaign Finance Board and as a Trustee with the Filipino American National Historical Society.
